The Gainesville Police Department has arrested two of three suspects in the weekend beating of a 12-year-old boy.

Police spokesman Cpl. Angelina Valuri said the boy's parents took him to Shands at the University of Florida with a severely broken collar bone. The boy told officers that he had been jumped by three others on Saturday in the area of Tiger Bay Apartments at 2450 SE Fourth Lane.

Two of the three suspects in the case - a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old - were arrested at Lincoln Middle School on Tuesday on charges of aggravated battery and then turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Valuri said the third suspect was still being sought on Wednesday.
