The North Central Florida regional water supply working group will hold its first meeting this evening - Monday, Jan. 23 - in Lake City.

The group will include members of local municipal and county governments. It formed in the wake of a late November meeting on regional water supply concerns, particularly the consumptive use permit the St. Johns River Water Management District approved for Jacksonville’s utility last May.

Tonight’s meeting is an organizational meeting that will, among other things, include the election of officers.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Columbia County School Board administrative complex, 372 W. Duval St. in Lake City.
