Talent show

Showers of Blessings Harvest Center will be hosting Talent Search 2012.

It will be held from 4-7:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at the church at 2615 SE 15th St. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Hair So New at 1622 NE 8th Ave. and at the door.

There is a $25 fee for performers and a $75 fee for vendors. Both must be paid by Saturday.

Revival

The community is invited to the Alachua County Empowerment Revival.

It will be held at 6 p.m. through Friday at Greater Bethel AME Church at 701 SE 43rd St.

The speaker will be the Rev. Wendy Smith of Atlanta. Guest psalmists will be Minister Sebrenah Phillips, Minister Charlotte Ellis and Evangelist Gladys Ellis, all of Alachua County.

Making A Difference Community Center Inc. at New Macedonia Baptist Church sponsors food and clothing giveaways.

They are held from 4-6 p.m. every third Friday of the month at the church at 1204 NE 10th Ave.

Harvest time

Emanuel Baptist Church will be hosting a service aimed at increasing spiritual growth through empowerment.

It will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church at 1203 NE 8th Ave. The teachers will be Bishop Thomas D.A. Blue III, pastor of Emanuel, and Prophetess Victoria Milton.

Thursday Manna

Victory Temple Ministries Church of God in Christ will be hosting Thursday Night Manna, an hour of prophetic preaching, healing and miracles.

Services will be held at 7 p.m. every Thursday at the church at 908 SE Williston Road. On Jan. 26, the speaker will be Bishop Ebenezer Sepha of Ghana, West Africa.

Dr. LaShon Young Ministries at Victory Temple Ministries Church of God in Christ will present "A Time for Refreshment," a one-day revival.

New Horizon Outreach Ministries will host a Family & Friends celebration.

Healing

Spirit of Faith Christian Center will be hosting a free Health and Healing Convention featuring Dr. Don Colbert, a world renown author and medical doctor.

It will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the church's east location at 1414 NE 23rd Ave. Colbert will speak about how to live longer, eat well and control health challenges, such as cancer, diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol. There also will be prayer for the sick.

Upper Room Ministries Church of God in Christ will continue to host the Strength Team.

Men in Black

Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church will be hosting its Men-in-Black Program 2012.

It will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the church at 4303 Wacahoota Road in Micanopy. The speaker will be Elder Neil Butler, associate pastor of Greater Love & Faith Ministries Inc. in Gainesville.

The program also will feature the male chorus from Springhill Baptist Church in southeast Gainesville, praise dancers and others.
