The Alachua County Coalition for the Homeless and Hungry is holding a training session Thursday for volunteers who want to help in the annual count of homeless children, women and men in the county.
The census is federally required and helps determine the level of federal and state funding for local programs focused on the homeless and those at risk of homelessness, according to the Coalition.
The training session is from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Alachua County Housing Authority, 703 NE First St.
The census survey is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 24, and and Wednesday, Jan. 25.
