A 24-year-old Gainesville man was arrested early Sunday and charged with robbing a man at gunpoint of $43 in cash after the two met because the suspect owed the victim $200, police said.

According to a Gainesville Police Department report, the suspect told the victim to meet him near 1515 NW 10th St. so he could give him the money.

When the victim got there at about 11:30 p.m., a second suspect pulled out a handgun and said, “Give me your money.”

The man the victim was there to meet, Jon Anthony Bivins, of 4013 NW 12th Ter., allegedly reached into the victim’s pants and grabbed $43 in cash.

The victim did not know the second suspect, whom detectives were trying to identify Sunday afternoon, said GPD Lt. Jeff Blundell.

Blundell said Bivins was charged with armed robbery, a first-degree felony, and was being held at the Alachua County jail in lieu of $250,000 bond.
