Area closings for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Following is a rundown of what’s open and what’s closed for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday:

  • Residential curbside collection for solid waste, recycling and yard trash will be delayed one day for the entire week. Regular services will resume on Monday, Jan. 23.
  • The five Alachua County Rural Collection Centers, the Leveda Brown Environmental Park and Transfer Station and the Hazardous Waste Center will be closed Monday.
  • Banks and credit unions will be closed Monday.
  • All Gainesville postal units will be closed Monday. Express mail delivery will be provided. Nornal mail delivery will resume Tuesday.
  • Alachua County Library District headquarters and district branches will be closed Monday. Bookdrops and the Library District eBranch will be available. Regular hours will resume Tuesday.
  • Alachua County Tax Collector’s Office will be closed Monday.
  • Alachua County Courthouse’s administrative offices will be closed Monday.
  • City administrative offices will be closed Monday. Regular hours will resume Tuesday.
  • County administrative offices will be closed Monday. Regular hours will resume Tuesday.
  • There will be no RTS bus service Monday, and all RTS offices will be closed. There will be no ADA Paratransit service on Monday, including dialysis appointments. Regular service will resume Tuesday.
