The 28th annual Gainesville/Alachua County Commemorative Celebration to honor the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be held through Jan 17. The theme this year is "Civil Rights 50 Years Later: Remember, Celebrate, Act." The celebration is sponsored each year by the Martin Luther King Jr. Commission of Florida Inc. and its community partners.

Thursday, Jan. 12
