Someone broke into a convenience store early Monday by smashing a hole in a wall and then carting off several cartons of cigarettes, according to the Gainesville Police Department.
Investigators said a surveillance camera showed a white man dressed in black with a bandana over his face entering the Lil’ Champ store at 2152 NW 39th Ave. at 1:26 a.m.
Police spokeswoman Angelina Valuri said the intruder took about $250 worth of cigarettes from cabinets behind the cash register and then crawled out through the same hole he created to enter the store.
