Friday is the last day to apply for the third annual $50,000 Cade Museum Prize.
The goal of the prize is to provide seed capital for projects leading to products or services with practical applications, according to a news release.
It is open to Florida residents or companies based in Florida or with at least one member who is a full-time Florida resident.
The first winner was Tutor Matching Service, a Facebook application to match instructors and students, and last year's winner was Florida Sustainables, which invented a plastic that can biodegrade in five to 10 years.
