Florida just added Salt to its line of scrimmage.
The Gators received a verbal commitment Sunday from four-star JUCO defensive tackle Visesio “Junior” Salt before he left from his official visit to Gainesville. Rivals.com ranks Salt as the No. 9 overall JUCO prospect in the nation and the second-best at his position.
Salt, who plays at Mt. San Antonio C.C. in Walnut, Calif., was blown away by the atmosphere at UF.
“It just felt right,” Salt said. “It felt like home and I was very comfortable. Being a Gator is what I'm supposed to be. I've been to other schools and they were nice, but once I came to Florida I knew that this was the right place for me.”
The 6-foot-3, 340-pounder will arrive on campus in May and he said the coaches will try him out at defensive tackle and offensive guard.
