Three second-half goals within a seven-minute span broke open a halftime tie as the No. 11 Florida soccer team (12-3, 5-1 SEC) posted a 4-1 win over Alabama (6-6-2, 1-4-1 SEC) Sunday afternoon under threatening skies at the James G. Pressly Stadium. Three of the Gators' four goals came from a pair of freshmen.
The Gators begin a three-match road stretch at Mississippi on Friday. The match airs live at 8 p.m. on FSN.
WOMEN'S TENNIS: University of Florida junior Allie Will captured the first collegiate singles grand slam title of her career, winning the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships held at the Riviera Tennis Club.
The title was the second of two earned by the Gators on Sunday, as junior Lauren Embree and senior Joanna Mather, the nation's 12th-ranked doubles team, began the day dominating Virginia's ninth-ranked Hardenbergh and Vierra, 8-0, to win the consolation doubles championship.
SWIMMING & DIVING: The swimming and diving program finished atop both the men's and women's standings at the second annual All-Florida Invitational this weekend.
The women finished with five relay and fifteen individual victories to finish first, while the men brought home four relay and nine individual victories throughout the weekend to finish atop the standings.
