Bolingbrook, Ill., middle linebacker Antonio Morrison became the 16th verbal commitment to Florida's class of 2012 late Wednesday night when his decision was announced on his high school team's Facebook page.

Morrison, who is 6-foot-3, 230 pounds and is rated a four-star prospect by Rivals.com, would give the Gators some size inside, a desperate need for head coach Will Muschamp's multiple defense that will employ both the 4-3 and 3-4 formations.

The Gators also have received two verbal commitments from outside linebackers Jeremi Powell, of Largo Pinellas Park, and Lorenzo Phillips, of Patterson, La.
