Gatorsports counts down the top 25 games in the SEC for the 2011 season.

No. 6 — SOUTH CAROLINA AT GEORGIA

When: Sept. 10.

Where: Sanford Stadium (capacity 92,746), Athens, Ga.

Series history: Georgia leads the series 46-15-2.

Why it's No. 6: This is one of the most anticipated games of the season in the SEC, and it comes in only the second week. The winner of this game gains the early edge in the Eastern Division race, while the loser will have some catching up to do right from the start. Here's another reason why it's so big: It's Steve Spurrier vs. Georgia. Bulldog fans are still haunted by the way Spurrier turned the Florida-Georgia rivalry into one of Gator dominance in the 1990s. Losing to Spurrier (wherever he's the coach) is tough for the ‘Dogs to stomach. Coming into this game, Spurrier's Gamecocks will be in a position they've never been in before — defending SEC East champs.
