Florida running backs Trey Burton, Jeff Demps and Chris Rainey are joined by wide receiver Deonte Thompson on their respective position watch lists for the College Football Performance Awards.
Burton, a true sophomore, was named to the 2010 SEC All-Freshman Team and named SEC Freshman of the Week twice during the 2010 season. Burton led the team with 12 total touchdowns last season, including a six touchdown performance against Kentucky.
Demps is entering his senior year after leading the team in rushing during the 2010 campaign with 551 yards on 92 carries (50.1 yards per game). The speedster was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week once last season and was one of only nine players in the country in 2010 with a rush of over 70 yards and kick return of over 50 yards.
Rainey, aredshirt senior, is coming off a season in which he had a team-best three receiving touchdowns in only eight games. Rainey, who sees time at both running back and wide receiver, scored in five of the eight games he participated in last season.
Thompson, who led the squad with 38 receptions, is coming off his best season in a Gator uniform. The Belle Glade native recorded a career high 570 receiving yards in 2010.
The purpose of the CFPA is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football, according their official website.
