Gatorsports counts down the top 25 games in the SEC for the 2011 season.
No. 24 Mississippi State at Auburn
When: Sept. 10
Where: Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn, Ala.
Series history: Auburn leads 59-23 (two ties)
Why it’s No. 24: The defending national champion Tigers will find out quickly how tough life without Cam Newton will be against the upstart Bulldogs. Mississippi State made great strides offensively in 2010 in its second season under coach Dan Mullen. With junior quarterback Chris Relf gaining more confidence in Mullen's spread offense, the Bulldogs are capable of pulling off an early-season upset.
