Gainesville Police on Saturday arrested a man they say got drunk and angry, then attacked a wagon carrying several children and two people who tried to intervene.
Police say Quincy Jermaine McClain, 32, approached a group of people at about 5:40 p.m. near Northeast 16th Avenue and then kicked the wagon. A juvenile tried to intervene, but police say McClain punched her in the face and her left arm.
Dylan David Peavey then tried to intervene and McClain allegedly picked up a broken bottle and threw it, hitting Peavey on the left torso, causing a 2-inch laceration.
McClain is charged with child abuse and aggravated battery. He was being held Sunday evening at the Alachua County Jail.
