Florida coach Will Muschamp announced Friday that wide receivers Chris Dunkley and Javares McRoy will transfer.
"It's been a great learning experience being here at the University of Florida, but I feel like it's in my best interest to get a fresh start somewhere else," Dunkley said.
Dunkley, a 6-foot-2, 172-pounder from Pahokee High School, did not see any game action last year as a true freshman. Dunkley was suspended from the team earlier this spring for academic reasons.
McRoy, a 5-9, 159-pounder from Lakeland High School, enrolled at Florida in January. McRoy was granted a release so he can go to Texas Tech and play with his brother.
"I enjoyed my time at Florida, but I really want the chance to play with my brother Ben," McRoy said. "Florida has been very understanding and is giving me that opportunity."
McRoy participated in spring practice and missed more than a week of practice, including last Saturday's Orange and Blue game, due to a minor medical procedure on his lung, according to Muschamp.
McRoy's older brother is a rising sophomore for the Red Raiders who played in 12 games as a running back, receiver and kick returner in 2010.
"We wish both of these guys the best of luck in their future endeavors, both on and off the field," Muschamp said.
