New wide receivers coach Aubrey Hill has added another title to add to his job description.
Coach Will Muschamp announced during his National Signing Day press conference that Hill will also be Florida's recruiting coordinator. The job was previously held by running backs coach Stan Drayton, who was hired last week to be the wide receivers coach at Ohio State.
Though Muschamp said he will oversee the majority of the recruiting actions, such as setting class numbers and targeting players, the staff will arrange recruiting efforts as a whole.
Hill, who was a wide receiver at Florida from 1991-94, has proven to be a successful recruiter in the past. During his three-year stint as the wide receivers coach at Miami, Hill helped bring in players like Ray Ray Armstrong, whom Rivals.com rated as the No. 1 athlete in 2009, and his teammate, defensive end Dyron Dye, the No. 8 defensive end by Rivals. Last year, he helped sign three Miami prospects, including quarterback Stephen Morris, who passed for more than 1,200 yards as a freshman for the Hurricanes.
After being hired by Muschamp, Hill took over the recruitment of Florida receiver signees Ja'Juan Story and Javares McRoy. He also helped secure fullback Hunter Joyer.
"I'm really pleased with the job he did recruiting and what he brings to the staff, especially as a former Gator," Muschamp said of Hill.
Muschamp also said that most of his coaches' recruiting areas have been designated, but he will finalize them when new tight ends coach Derek Lewis arrives in Gainesville.
"We've got most of it set," Muschamp said. "We're still finishing that up."
