Aren't gifts that can be used for more than one thing just the best? I love it when you make something for one thing and it can be used for something else later, and that's the case with this lovely felt bag made for candy or gift cards, which can be used for potpourri or dried flowers after the holiday is over.
WHAT YOU NEED:
One 12-inch square of tan felt
One 12-inch square of red felt
One 12-inch long piece of ribbon
One cloth yo-yo (coordinating fabric)
One red or white button
White or red embroidery thread
Red sewing thread
Felt Valentine gift bag
Step one: Measure and cut two five-inch squares of tan felt with the pinking shears. Also cut a heart to fit the front of one of the felt squares with the pinking shears.
Step two: With the embroidery thread, sew the button to the yo-yo, then to the front of the heart. Sew the heart to one of the tan felt squares, stitching in it in-between each triangle formed by the pinking shears.
Step three: Put the two pieces of tan felt together and tuck the ribbon in on each side. Sew together. Trim off evenly.
