A Bradford County sheriff's deputy received minor injuries in an accident Friday night, reported the Florida Highway Patrol.
Trent Page, 21, was treated for minor injuries at Shands at Starke following the accident, which occurred about 8:25 p.m. on Bradford County Road 225 about one mile east of Lawtey, an FHP media release stated.
Page had been on the eastbound shoulder assisting a driver. With his emergency lights still on, he was attempting to make a three-point turn to head west when he stopped partially on the grass on the eastbound shoulder. Jason A. Major, 36, of Lawtey, driving a 2003 Honda four-door, was westbound when he drifted across the center lane and hit the right front of the patrol car with the left front of his car, FHP stated.
Major was not injured. The accident is under investigation and charges are pending, the release stated.
