Q&A with Ole Miss senior point guard Chris Warren.

You're going up against (Kentucky freshman point guard) Brandon Knight next week. Are you surprised he was picked ahead of you on all-SEC preseason first team, considering he's a freshman and you are a senior?

No. I don't even know who is on the first team and how they pick the first team. Let's compete. That's all I say.

You're from Orlando, and Knight is from the Fort Lauderdale area. How do you compare the quality of players from Florida to other states?

I think it's high. Talking to my teammates, they say there is 4A, 3A, 5A, 1A. I said, we're 6A. We had 6A schools in Florida. Florida is a bigger state from some of the down South states and a lot of recruits come out of there.

Are players from Florida known to have any type of style?

People always say Florida players are fast. So I guess we have more up-and-down teams.

Do you feel like your team is playing better up front this season?

We've got DeMarco Cox, Steadman Short. They are strong. They are going to play physical. They have to play physical for us to be successful.

You guys have been close to making the NCAA Tournament the past couple of years. how frustrating has that been?

I wouldn't say frustrating. It's just been hard. It just shows that we're close.
