Flights between Gainesville and Atlanta have been cancelled for a second day with two exceptions. Delta officials have tentatively listed the 4:45 p.m. and 6 p.m. flights to Atlanta as being on schedule.

Facts

Contact numbers for the airlines serving Gainesville:

American Airlines / American Eagle: 800-433-7300

Delta Connection: 800-221-1212 or 800-282-3424

US Airways: 800-428-4322

Officials said the Atlanta airport is dealing with a logjam of passengers that was created Monday when the airport was forced to shut down due to a severe winter storm.

The early American Eagle and U.S. Airways flights out of Gainesville were delayed Tuesday morning, but other flights planned for later in the day were expected to be back on schedule, according to the airport's automated flight information system.

Travelers are encouraged to check their flight's status with the carrier before leaving for the airport.
