The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office has released a composite drawing of the suspect in a sexual battery in early January.
Investigators said the crime occurred Jan. 2 between 1:30 a.m. and 2:40 a.m. The victim told deputies that the man picked her up on U.S. 441 just north of Club Rodeo in Lake City, then drove her to an unknown location on a graded road, where she was sexually battered.
The victim was able to provide investigators with several details about the man and his truck.
The suspect was described as a white male in his early to mid-40s with brown hair that had been gelled and combed forward over his forehead. He had a mustache, a goatee and a heavy build. He was wearing khaki shorts, a dark pullover polo shirt and sandals.
The man was driving a late model, full-size, Dodge pickup that was black or dark blue with gray or white pinstripes on the sides. There was a diamond-plated toolbox in the truck bed.
The truck had an extended or quad cab and a bench front seat with a center console that could be lifted up to create space for a third person to sit. The seats may have been covered in gray fabric.
The windows were not tinted and the back window was a solid window that did not slide open. There was a sticker or decal about four inches wide on the driver’s side of the rear window that may have included the image of a fish.
Anyone with information about the crime, the truck or the man is asked to contact Detective Katina Dicks at 386-752-7015. Remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers of Columbia County at 386-754-7099.
