A Dixie County man died Saturday of injuries he suffered in a single vehicle wreck on Dec. 29.

Thomas B. Means, 67, of Suwannee, was pronounced dead at Shands at the University of Florida.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Means was alone in a 2005 Chevrolet SUV when it crashed around 8:30 p.m. on County Road 349 at Southeast 477th Avenue.

FHP said Means was southbound on CR 349 at a high rate of speed when the Chevy ran off the road. Evidence at the scene indicated Means over-corrected. The Chevy began to spin and then rolled several times. Investigators said Means had not been wearing his seat belt and was ejected as the Chevy was rolling over.
