Florida will have one less early enrollee this month.
Kirtland, Ohio, Lake Catholic offensive lineman commit Chase Hounshell confirmed Monday that he won't be enrolling at Florida in January as previously expected.
"I just didn't want to move down without even talking (to) or meeting my position coach," Hounshell said.
Hounshell made the news of his decision via Twitter Monday evening.
"I have decided today I will not be enrolling early at Florida," he tweeted. "I just don't feel like rushing the most important decision of my life."
Frank Verducci has been hired as Florida's new offensive line/running game coordinator. In his 28-year career, Verducci has coached at the NFL and collegiate level.
Hounshell, who still remains committed to Florida, said he has done a little research on Verducci and said he "seems like an amazing coach," but Hounshell wants to make sure he develops a similar relationship with him as he did with former offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Steve Addazzio.
Hounshell, whom Rivals.com rates as a three-star prospect, said Notre Dame is the only other school he's considering and said he expects to visit both schools this month.
