Urban Meyer won two SEC titles and two national championships in his six seasons at Florida, but there were some low moments, too, during his tenure. Here are 10 lows of the Meyer era:
1. LSU, 2005
Meyer broke down and cried after the Gators' heartbreaking 21-17 loss to LSU in his first season.
2. Alabama, 2005 & 2010
Florida lost 31-3 at Alabama in Meyer's first season, then got routed by the Tide again, 31-6, in Tuscaloosa in his last.
3. Georgia, 2007
Gator fans watched as Mark Richt's team danced in the end zone following the Bulldogs' first touchdown in UGA's 42-30 victory.
4. South Carolina, 2005
Another low point in Meyer's first season came in a 30-22 loss to former UF coach Steve Spurrier in Columbia. It was a defeat that prevented the Gators from going to Atlanta as the Eastern Division champs.
5. Auburn, 2006
During the national championship run in 2006, the upset loss at Auburn included a controversial fumble when it looked like the Gators were about to score a touchdown in the second half.
6. Auburn, 2007
Florida lost to Auburn again a year later, 20-17. It was Meyer's first loss in The Swamp.
7. Ole Miss, 2008
A big low was being upset by Ole Miss in The Swamp in a season full of great expectations. The negative, however, eventually led to a positive — the second national title under Meyer.
8. Alabama, 2009
The 2009 SEC Championship Game saw Alabama rout Florida, 32-13. It ended the perfect season and dashed the Gators' hopes of winning back-to-back national titles.
9. The Swamp, 2010
The three-game Swamp losing streak this season frustrated everyone in Gator Nation, culminating with a humbling 36-14 loss to South Carolina that knocked UF out of the SEC title game.
10. FSU, 2010
Being embarrassed by FSU in Tallahassee two weeks ago was the final low point, giving the Gators a five-loss season. Meyer was angry in his post-game comments.
