Florida senior center Vernon Macklin takes the spotlight.
You're known on the team as big movie guy. You have a pretty big DVD collection. What's the best and worst movie you've seen this year?
The best movie I've seen is either The Town or The Takers. The worst was a scary movie I saw a few nights ago, it was supposed to be scary anyway, it was called My Soul To Take. It wasn't scary at all. I didn't like it. It was stupid.
What was a better summer camp for you, the LeBron James or Amare Stoudamire camp?
I'd say LeBron because for the most part, me and (Chandler Parsons) were on the same team all camp. For the Amare camp, we played, but it was like everybody was there to show what they had and didn't want to pass the ball. I liked the LeBron camp much better.
Who was on your team at the LeBron camp?
My four-on-four team was me, Chandler (Parsons), Nolan Smith (from Duke) and Shelvin Mack from Butler.
How'd you do?
Really good. We didn't lose a game. It was really fun.
Did you get a chance to talk to LeBron?
Not really. He was kind of in-and-out of the gym. He played, but because he was going through all the Miami and Cleveland stuff he didn't really talk. He just played.
Is his going to Miami with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh good or bad for the NBA?
Good. It'll make exciting games.
Kenny Boynton said you once put peanut butter in his shoe?
No man, he's crazy (laughs). Let me tell you what really happened. Chandler Parsons put some peanuts in my shoe and I thought Kenny did it, so I put a peanut brownie in his shoe. If he put his foot in there and it felt like peanut butter, he's wrong. That was a brownie.
Everybody asked has said that you're the funniest guy on the team. Why do you think that is?
I just like to make people laugh. I think Alex (Tyus) and (Parsons) are the funniest guys on the team. Alex is funny, but he doesn't mean to be funny. He's all serious, but he makes you laugh.
What's the best joke you've played on someone on the team?
I don't know. I stole Erv(ing Walker's) car once (laughs). We were eating dinner at Yamato and I took Erv's car and hid it around the corner and he thought he got towed. Then, one time, I took his scooter and he thought someone stole it for a day and a half.
A day and a half? Did you just wait to tell him, or did you not see him for that long?
I waited. His mom was about to call the police and everything.
How did you get his keys to move his car?
We were at Yamato and he set them on the table. I took them and said I had to go to the bathroom, but I went and moved the car.
What did his face look like when he came out and couldn't find his car?
He was scared. Man, he was scared. But then one night he really did get towed, but he thought I was playing a joke on him again. Like the little boy who cried wolf, he wouldn't believe me, so I had to drive him down there to pick it up.
