Robbers held up a store and fired shots before fleeing from the business in southeast Gainesville Wednesday night, police reported.
There were no reports of injuries but two rounds were fired over the store's counter where the business' owner and wife were working, said Sgt. Orlando Alvarez.
The suspects entered Gator Liquor, 2305 S.E. Hawthorne Road, at about 9:30 p.m., police reported. The men had their faces partially covered and yelled at the owner to "Give me the money" and reached over the counter.
Police set up a perimeter to try and locate the two men but Alavarez said poor weather conditions that night hampered the search.
Officers also are investigating another robbery that occurred Tuesday night at about 9 p.m. at 727 S.W. Fourth Ave.
In that case, a man carrying a small black handgun and wearing a bandanna jumped over the counter at the convenience store, Alvarez said. The man tried to disable the store's surveillance camera, police reported.
