Lake City gas main ruptures, diverting traffic

An section of U.S. Highway 90 in Lake City was shut down Thursday morning after a natural-gas main ruptured while workers attempted to repair a valve in the three-inch line.
When the rupture occurred about 9:15 a.m., fire and police personnel redirected east-bound traffic starting at the Turner Road intersection, and at Harvey Street for drivers coming from the west. Public works was able to stop the leak at 4316 SW U.S. Highway 90, and traffic resumed at 10:45 a.m. No injuries were reported.
