Gatorsports counts down the top 25 games in the SEC for the 2010 season.

When: Sept. 18.

Why it's must-see TV: This is one of the first real early-season, out-of-conference tests for an SEC team and it's during prime time on a Saturday night. Auburn comes into the season with higher expectations in the second year of the Gene Chizik era. Clemson, led by the coach Dabo Swinney, will have one of the toughest defenses in the ACC as it returns seven starters from 2009. C.J. Spiller has left Clemson's backfield, but backups Jamie Harper and Andre Ellington combined for 909 rushing yards and more than 6 yards per carry.

All-time record: Auburn leads, 33-11-2.

Recent history: These two met for the first time in 10 years in the 2007 Chick-fil-A Bowl, where Auburn defeated Clemson 23-20 in overtime. In 2007, Auburn again met Clemson in Atlanta for what was then called the Peach Bowl and came away with a 21-17 win. You then have to go all the way back to 1971 where Auburn blasted Clemson 35-13.

Quick hit: Both schools were coached by Bowden brothers in the 90s, but neither faced each other. Terry Bowden coached at Auburn from 1993-98, finishing with a 47-17-1 record. Tommy coached Clemson from 1999-2008 and went 72-45.
