WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A West Palm Beach man has been charged with leaving his baby in a hot car for two hours.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office reports that a woman first noticed the 7-month-old boy in the car Tuesday and called 911 after no one came back for several minutes. Fire rescue workers removed the child from the car and took him to a nearby hospital. He was expected to recover.
Authorities say 22-year-old Seven Emeka Ezumba eventually returned. He told deputies that he was at a nearby post office with a friend for about two hours but had been checking on the child every 15 to 20 minutes.
Ezumba was charged with child abuse. He was being held on $1,000 bail.
