TAMPA, Fla. — A Hillsborough County teen has pleaded guilty to wounding three people when he shot into a crowd last year.

Juan C. Ventura pleaded guilty Wednesday to second-degree murder and aggravated battery in the March 2009, shooting. The 18-year-old faces up to 15 years on each charge. For pleading guilty, prosecutors agreed to drop two four additional charges.

Authorities say Ventura fired several shots during a street fight, hitting three people. Prosecutors say the victims were about 20 feet away.

Ventura is scheduled to be sentenced at a May 7 hearing.
