Tennessee 59, LSU 49
What happened: Tennessee overcame a flat start to pull away in the second half. Despite shooting 4-of-23 from 3-point range, the Vols got a big lift inside from forward Brian Williams, who had 14 rebounds.
Turning point: With the score tied at 30 with 15:49 left in the second half, Tennessee built some breathing room with an 8-0 run. Four different Tennessee players (Cameron Tatum, J.P. Prince, Wayne Chism and Melvin Goins) scored baskets during a run in which the Vols held LSU scoreless for more than six minutes.
Player of the Game: Senior center Wayne Chism led the Vols with 17 points and 11 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season.
Quote: "It wasn't a thing of beauty, but that's why they call it survive and advance," Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl, on the Vols' 59-49 win over LSU.
