South Florida student hit crossing street

COOPER CITY, Fla. — A 15-year-old girl has been taken to a South Florida hospital after she was hit by a car near her high school.
According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, the girl was being dropped off near Cooper City High School when the collision occurred Monday morning. An eastbound vehicle hit the girl, whose name wasn't released, while she tried to cross the street. She wasn't in the crosswalk.
The girl was conscious and breathing when she was transported to a local hospital. Authorities say the driver won't be cited.
