The first of what may be several arrests has been made in connection with alleged multiple sexual assaults of a drunken teenage girl during a weekend party.
According to Capt. Brad Smith of the Bradford County Sheriff, the incident happened during a Friday night party at a home in the Lawtey area. The assaults were reported late Saturday, Smith said, and an investigation into the girl's claims was continuing on Monday.
"Our preliminary information is that this victim was passed out and when she came to she realized what was happening," Smith said. "More arrests are expected."
Joseph Robert Kelly, 18, of Brooker, was charged with sexual battery involving multiple perpetrators when he was arrested by the Sheriff's Office on Sunday.
