ALACHUA COUNTY JAIL

Rashandra L. Bolton, of 15261 N. E. 141st St. in Waldo, was arrested on charges of aggravated battery on a pregnant woman, battery, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct in the form of fighting. According to Gainesville Police, the incident happened in a nail salon known as Nail Shop at 114 N.E. Waldo Rd. at shortly after 2 p.m. Saturday.

In his report on Bolton's arrest, Police Corporal Duane K. Diehl provided the following account of the incident based on evidence at the scene and statements from witnesses.

Bolton argued with employees Tan Nguyen and Thanh Vant Tran about the nail services she did or did not receive. Witnesses saw her knocking over supplies and fixtures in the business, then scratching Tan Tran and breaking his gold chain necklace. When Nguyen got involved in the disturbance, Bolton hit her in the head, neck and shoulder, leaving red marks and bruises.

According to Diehl, Bolton was still at the nail salon when he arrived and had been so disruptive that the other clients had to be moved outside.

Bolton was being held as the Alachua County jail on Monday.
