UF women’s hoops posts road win over Ole Miss

Senior Steffi Sorensen scored 18 points on six three-pointers and led Florida to a 67-64 victory against Ole Miss at C.M. Tad Smith Coliseum on Sunday afternoon.

Sorensen connected on 6-of-7 three pointers as part of the Gators’ aerial attack from beyond the arc, as Florida hit 11-of-21 with four different players converting from deep.

Senior Sharielle Smith added 11 points and five rebounds, while senior Lonnika Thompson tallied 11 points and five assists with three steals. Sophomore Azania Stewart contributed 10 points, five rebounds and three blocked shots, as Florida improve to 12-9 overall and 5-3 in the Southeastern Conference.

Florida is 5-5 this season in games decided by less than 10 points, including a 5-2 record in league outings.

The Gators host Vanderbilt at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
