Chiefland resident Carolyn DeVore became considerably richer when she won the Saturday night $9 million Florida Lotto jackpot, the Florida Lottery announced Wednesday.

DeVore, 65, chose to take her winnings in one lump sum and will net about $5 million. She could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

The winning ticket was purchased from the Winn-Dixie at 2200 N. Young Boulevard in Chiefland. The store received a bonus incentive of $25,000 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.

The winning numbers were 1-4-25-27-48-49 and the XTRA multiplier was 2.

Total ticket sales for this jackpot generated approximately $5.5 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund. Since 1988, the Florida Lottery has contributed more than $20 billion to the fund, benefiting students and schools, as well as funding more than 1 million Bright Futures scholarships.

DeVore is the third Lotto jackpot winner from Levy County. To date, there have been more than 940 Lotto jackpot winners statewide since 1988.

Carolyn DeVore takes lump sum of about $5 million.
