MIAMI — A South Florida teenager accused of killing more than a dozen cats says he wants to go to college.
Tyler Weinman and his attorney appeared in court Wednesday to ask a judge to let the teen end his house arrest and attend classes.
Miami-Dade Circuit Judge John Thornton said he would let Weinman meet with a college adviser and see about taking classes online.
No final decision has been made. Another hearing is scheduled for next week.
Weinman is charged with 19 counts each of animal cruelty and improperly disposing of an animal body. He was arrested in June and has pleaded not guilty.
