Every Thursday, Gainesville Sun columnist Pat Dooley ranks the SEC from 1 to 12. Ratings reflect Wednesday's games.

1. Kentucky: Wildcats play the same game over and over

2. Tennessee: Remarkable job by Bruce Pearl this year

3. Mississippi State: Great balance inside and out for Bulldogs

4. Vanderbilt: Definitely a tournament team

5. Mississippi: Could win the SEC West with better inside play

6. South Carolina: Stop Devan Downey and you stop the Gamecocks

7. Florida: Looks like a year on and off the bubble

8. Arkansas: Much improved from the early part of the season

9. Alabama: Mark Gottfried likes his seat much better this year ... he's now a broadcaster

10. Auburn: Dangerous team that usually wilts

11. Georgia: Improved team but still a bottom-feeder

12. LSU: One really good player and a bunch of stiffs
