U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas will speak next month at the University of Florida, the fifth justice to visit the university in as many years.
Thomas will be speak Feb. 4 to faculty and students at UF's Levin College of Law. He will answer questions submitted by students, said Debbie Amirin, spokeswoman for the college.
While the event will be closed to the public, she said, the college plans on showing the event online.
“While the public can view it, he is coming really to interact with law students,” she said.
His appearance continues a recent surge of justices visiting UF. Since 2005, retired justice Sandra Day O'Conner and current justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, John Roberts and John Paul Stevens have all spoken at the university.
