Name: Laura Bedford
Position: Midfield and forward
Jersey number: 18
Area player I would pay to watch play: My teammate Carly Anderson because of her speed and the facial expressions she makes while she is going in for a tackle during a game; Madeline Forrestel of GHS because of her footwork and she is fun to watch.
Beckham is…: eye candy.
Comic book hero I would want to be?: Spider Pig from The Simpsons. I think pigs are really cute and it would be a pretty easy life.
Defeating what team(s) would make me the happiest?: Eastside. We beat them 1-0 on senior night and I headed in the only goal of the game.
ESPN’s best program?: I don’t watch a lot of TV.
Favorite thing about having Anna as a fraternal twin sister?: I always have a best friend to hang out with.
Gators, Seminoles or Hurricanes?: I got accepted to Florida State, so I’ll be a Gator until I graduate from Buchholz on June 11th.
Have you ever switched places with your fraternal twin sister Anna?: Once in the fourth grade. It was during the first few weeks when we were at a new school and we switched seats in class just to trick the teacher. It last like five minutes until our best friend noticed. We switched back, but the teacher never noticed.
Interesting thing about me away from soccer.: I foster animals for the Gainesville Pet Rescue and I can ride a unicycle.
Junior to watch on team?: Havana Solaun. She is so good.
Kick or a header for a goal: Any goal is a good goal, but headers just because they happen more often for me.
Least favorite Buchholz sports moment: Losing to Fleming Island this year, 3-0, but we were missing three starters. Their parents were so annoying and I hope they read this.
My favorite soccer player is…: I don’t really have one.
New Year’s resolution?: I didn’t make one.
Obama’s biggest challenge?: Improving the economy.
Potential college major: Nursing, specializing in Geriatrics.
Quiet time activity: Playing with my cats.
Reading newspapers or browsing the Internet to get my high school sports information?: Probably reading the paper.
Sean Bedford as a big brother, football player or a future rocket scientist?: He is very protective; he is hard working and extremely determined; he is just a genius.
Toughest thing about having Anna as a fraternal twin sister?: We’re competitive about little things.
Universities or colleges considering: Florida State (just as a student).
Vacation spot I love: Tortola in the British Virgin Islands because I used to live there.
What is the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you?: My mom Katie Boudreau always told me to eat my vegetables. On the field, my former coach Ron Messick always told me to be a bulldog.
Xbox, PlayStation or Wii?: I don’t really play video games.
Your response to people who dislike soccer or say it is boring to watch is...: that is their opinion and I can’t really do anything about it, but I love it.
Zoo animal I like most: I love all animals.
