VERO BEACH, Fla. — Two dead manatees were found floating in water near Indian River County and officials suspect they died from hypothermia.

The bodies were found Tuesday morning near Round Island Park. They were being towed to the dock and a necropsy will be performed to determine their official causes of death.

Officials suspect they died from hypothermia, which would be the first manatee deaths in the area attributed to the recent record-breaking cold spell earlier this month.
