KEY BISCAYNE, Fla. — A bicyclist is dead following a hit-and-run crash on a South Florida causeway.
The driver of a silver Volkswagen Jetta struck the cyclist on the Rickenbacker Causeway on Sunday morning. The cyclist's crushed bike was reportedly dragged for blocks before the driver was stopped by police in Key Biscayne.
Witnesses told The Miami Herald that a doctor and a firefighter tried to help the injured cyclist, who was bleeding profusely, but couldn't save the victim.
