A Lake City man was killed Wednesday when his motorcycle was struck by a car on Baya Avenue in Lake City, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
John Russel Fry, 47, was killed, according to an FHP release.
The accident was reported at 6:55 a.m. on Baya Avenue and McFarlane Avenue.
A Jeep SUV driven by Christopher Robert Davis, 36, of Lake City, was westbound on Baya while Fry was eastbound on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Davis reportedly tried to turn left onto McFarlane Avenue into the path of Fry.
Evidence at the scene indicates Fry swerved but was unable to avoid impact, according to FHP.
Neither Davis nor his passenger, Christopher Robert Davis Jr., 17, was injured. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
