Farm Share Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Homestead, will deliver tractor trailer loads of fresh cantaloupe, watermelon, mango, tomatoes, and eggplants to three locations in North Central Florida Tuesday for free distribution to residents living in eight surrounding counties.
The time and locations for the food drop-offs are:
-- Bradford County Fair Grounds, 2300 N. Temple Ave., Starke, 8 a.m.
-- Bronson Town Hall, 660 East Hathaway Ave., Bronson, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
-- Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 310 SW Fifth St., Chiefland, 11 a.m. to noon.
Farm Share feeds the hungry throughout Florida by distributing tractor-trailer loads of fresh produce donated by farmers as well as USDA commodities.
"We expect this load to provide fresh produce to more than 2,000 families," said Bill Brown of The Children's Table.
