Pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists on the University of Florida campus are being put on notice about an enforcement plan for Wednesday. A crackdown is planned on laws affecting bikers and walkers.
UF police plan a saturation detail between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. on the campus. Officers will work to educate and inform people walking, biking or driving on campus about the laws affecting them.
In some situations, police said, they will focus on specific problems, like drivers who fail to yield to pedestrians, bike riders using the wrong side of the road, and motorists and bikers who fail to stop at intersections.
UF police conducted similar saturation details during the fall semester on a biweekly basis to focus on various traffic safety issues.
