According to Alachua County Sheriff's Office spokesman Art Forgey, detectives arrested Michael Conley, 39, on Jan. 5 after serving a search warrant at his home in the 8600 block of Southwest 92nd Lane in the abuse case. On Tuesday, detectives arrested him for sexual battery of a physically impaired 17-year-old girl.

"The victim alerted us to the abuse," Forgey said. Conley was described as the boyfriend of one of the victim's relatives.

Conley was being held at the Alachua County jail on Tuesday afternoon. Bond for Conley was set at $750,000.
