TAMPA, Fla. — A 10-year-old girl with a passion for dance is helping some less fortunate kids, one pair of ballet slippers at a time.

On Tuesday, Drew Buckley of Tampa handed out dozens of pairs of new ballet shoes to the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students of the Metropolitan Ministries Partnership School.

The students, some of whom live in a homeless shelter, take ballet classes as part of their physical education class. But the kids were dancing in their stocking feet — that is, until Drew gave them the shoes.

Drew and her mother collected $1,700 in donations to buy the shoes, and vow to continue raising money to buy dance supplies for the kids.
