Meet some of the outstanding Gainesvillians who use theirtalents to make our community — and the world — a better place
Tim Tebow and Danny WuerFfel, linked by faith, football and friendship, also share another bond — putting their talents to work for causes they believe in.
In Tim and Danny's case, they've found a way to transform the fame that football success has inspired into a spotlight on those enterprises near and dear to their hearts: For Danny, it's his Desire Street Ministries; for Tim, just now poised to graduate from college and enter the world, it's to causes such as his parents' mission to orphans in the Philippines and his work with prisoners.
Within these pages you'll meet others among us who share an essential part of themselves — employing their specific talents to benefit our community. Gainesville is filled with literally hundreds of others just like them, and in the issues to come you'll find many more of them profiled as part of our regular Giving Back feature.
In the meantime, we'd like to introduce you to the musicians, photographer, builders, dancer, teacher, pilot, doctor, dentist and master of ceremonies who take their gifts and use them to build a better world, each in their own way.
